Liz splits her time between raising three children (ages 9, 6, and 2) and working as a middle school librarian. Oh, and she also co-founded Bibliotechies, a site that provides great children’s book reviews and reading lists.

What time do your kids get up in the morning?

On school days my older kids get up around 7:15 and on weekends around 8 am.  Katie wakes up EARLY – before 7am.

For yourself?

Go to the gym or get my nails done if there’s enough time.

Work on my book recommendation website in short bursts of free time.

When was the last time you went out with your husband? Where?

This past Saturday night.  We went out to dinner (by ourselves) and then to a party.

How much TV do your kids really watch?

A lot.  Not sure I can count that high!

Do you care?

No! They do so much other stuff and it gives me a break.  I just monitor the shows they’re watching.  I love the Disney Channel.

What’s your favorite TV show?

General Hospital – no idea what else is on TV!!

What do you like most about still working?

I like being stimulated by people and ideas.  I like being in an environment that is separate and apart from my personal life.

What item can’t you live without?

UGGs

What do you covet?

A nice car

What’s the most recent memorable comment one of your children made?

Robbie said yesterday: “I don’t know what I would do without Julia & Katie.  I would be so bored without them even though they annoy me a lot.”

What do you want your kids to remember most about their childhood?

That they are loved no matter what.  I just want them to be happy and have a good sense of self.
